简 介
居住在亚利桑那州凤凰城的年轻女秘书玛丽莲·克雷恩（Anne Heche 饰）与来自加州的男子山姆·卢米斯（Viggo Mortensen 饰）相恋。他们的爱情道路并非一帆风顺，玛丽莲梦想和爱人结婚，但山姆却必须将收入用于前期的赡养费，美好的婚姻遥遥无期。某天，玛丽莲受老板之托携带四十万现金去银行存款。难耐生活的压抑，她携款逃离，准备用这笔钱与山姆展开新的生活。玛丽莲一路驾车逃亡，终因恶劣天气而暂停脚步。她来到一家汽车旅馆休息，受到年轻的男主人诺曼·贝茨（Vince Vaughn 饰）的接待，却不知一场噩梦才刚刚开始……
