简 介
在很小的时候，一场可怕的疾病夺走了少女海伦凯勒（帕蒂·杜克 Patty Duke 饰）的视力、听力和声音，让她坠入了无边无尽的孤独和黑暗之中，看到女儿绝望痛苦的模样，海伦的父母无能为力。随着时间的推移，海伦渐渐长大，不幸的生活让她的性格变得乖张暴戾，犹如一匹无法驯服的野马。
就在此时，一位名叫安妮（安妮·班克罗夫特 Anne Bancroft 饰）的家庭教师来到了海伦的身边，尽管安妮并没有多少教学经验，但她用自己的耐心和温柔一点点融化着海伦内心的坚冰，教她体味人间万物的滋味，平常爱和亲情的温暖。在安妮的教导之下，海伦最终走出了阴影，重新获得了生活的希望。
