简 介
物理专业研究生刘星（刘烨 饰）远赴美国某州立大学深造，在校期间，他师从著名教授雅各布?瑞瑟（Aidan Quinn 饰）。他的勤奋和出众才华很快在同侪中脱颖而出，并深得瑞瑟教授的信任和赏识。在众多课题中，刘星独对暗物质倾心着迷，他将自己投入到这项研究中，却未料到他所得出的理论与导师经典的瑞瑟模式相冲突。
刘星关于暗物质的论文博得一片好评，然而醉心研究的他忽略了校园政治的存在，他的答辩未获通过。极度抑郁和愤慨之下，他走上了一条不归路……
本片根据卢刚事件改编，并荣获2007年圣丹斯电影节阿尔弗莱德?斯隆奖和2007年亚美电影节最佳故事影片奖。
