简 介
该片取材于1980年代一首著名的巴西民歌，讲述了大盗Jo?o的故事。Jo?o来到城市满怀希望开始新的生活，他的表兄给他提供了一份工作，条件是Jo?o要和他一起卖毒品。Jo?o代替表兄在交付毒品时出了问题，接着他发现他陷入了腐败的警察和疯狂的毒贩子之间的麻烦中。在躲避警察时，Jo?o遇到了参议员的女儿Maria Lúcia，自此他踏入了充满激情的恋情之路。
导演René Sampaio虽然一直以美国犯罪电影的风格工作，但他仍旧保持着对巴西电影的忠诚。《西部巴西》是一个暴力故事，它传达出了对贫困、阶级观念和种族主义的寓意，该片深刻体现出了巴西新电影派西部片的精神。该部电影的配乐采用的是80年代流行的新浪潮和朋克音乐，这是一部有着独特声音、发人深省又令人激动不已的犯罪故事。
