简 介
梅林（斯特兰·斯卡斯加德 Stellan Skarsg?rd 饰）曾是一名信仰十分坚定的神父，然而，经过了第二次世界大战的洗礼，梅林的精神世界发生了翻天覆地的变化。战争结束之后，梅林依然生活在如同噩梦一般的记忆中无法自拔，这危险的信号让他决定踏上旅途，重新发现人生和信仰的意义。
梅林来到了开罗，在那里，他结识了一位著名的收藏家。在收藏家的建议之下，梅林加入了一支考古挖掘队，前往肯尼亚调查一座刚刚出土的基督教堂。传说中，教堂里隐藏着价值连城的古迹，收藏家希望梅林能够先众人一步将其找出。然而，大家并不知道的是，真正的恶魔隐藏在如同废墟一般的断壁残垣之中，而考古队的到来即将将它唤醒。
