简　　介

　　森林守护者刚刚失去母亲的少女玛丽·凯瑟琳“M.K”（阿曼达·塞弗里德 Amanda Seyfried 配音）乘坐出租车来到一座几乎与世隔绝的大森林。这里生活着他的父亲，一个坚信森林里生活着矮人族的科学家，为了找到这些小生灵，他不惜牺牲家庭和婚姻。玛丽到达的那天刚好是夏至和满月，一个百年一次的特殊日子。包围着森林绿色和祥和的森林守护者的女王塔拉（Beyoncé Knowles 配音）将在这天选出继承人，然而他们的死对头Boggan人却要想方设法阻止继承人的诞生，这样便可以顺利地将腐烂和死亡的气息带到森林每一个角落。
　　并不相信父亲说法的玛丽意外卷入两个矮人族的存亡纷争之中，而她也和数名森林守护者的勇士们肩负起保卫森林的重任……
